The Vulcanus program consists of industrial internships by students of the EU. It starts in September and ends in August next year to adjust to the academic year in the States members of the EU.
students carried out a seminar a week in Japan, an intensive course of Japanese for 4 months, and an internship in a Japanese company for 8 months.
applicants must be national EU, University students from the third year or post-graduate, of the branch of engineering or Sciences (computer science, engineering, chemistry, biotechnology, physics, telecommunications, production systems,…) enrolled in a European University during the current academic year.
students must be able to reside in Japan for one year in accordance with the regulations of their respective universities or title of sabbatical.

study the range of most advanced technologies used by a leading Japanese company.
Learn Japanese, as well as appreciate and understand Japanese culture having lived a rich experience of one year abroad.
Styling a good professional future to come into contact with people and Japanese companies.
Vulcanus in Japan is funded by the Japanese company for the reception and the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation (associated company co-funded by the European Commission and by the Ministry of economy, trade and industry of Japan).
students receive a scholarship (1,900,000 yen) for the trip of round-trip and the basic expenses in Japan. They are hosted by the company that welcomes them during the 12 months. Language courses and the seminar are in charge of the EU-Japan Industrial Cooperation Centre.
candidates are selected based on their record and academic results, the opinion of their teachers, their knowledge of written and spoken English, their motivation and attitude towards the EU-Japan relations and to its ability to adapt.
