This resolution aims to convene, in regime of publicity, objectivity and competitive concurrency, six scholarships for recent graduates training (course 2011-2012 or later) and students of past university higher degrees of long cycle and degree courses. Its purpose is the form these students or fresh graduates in technological development associated with the astrophysics research.

The duration of the scholarship will be from July 1 to September 30.

Type of grant. Purpose: Technological development. They are made in the Area of instrumentation of the IAC. Available projects to enable fellows to develop their work are those detailed in annex IV program is exclusively practice training program involves academic or academic training programme linked to university studies or vocational training.

The Evaluation Committee will assign projects candidates according to their training and experience.

They are intended for recent graduates (course 2011-2012 or later) and university students of higher degrees or long cycle and degree, preferably Engineering (industrial, information technology, aeronautics, telecommunications) or Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences or related. For the purposes of this call are excluded those Master’s studies, which are not the specifics that enable for the exercise of every engineering professional.

The endowment of scholarships for summer is 700 Euro gross per month plus a fixed amount of assistance for travel expenses whose amounts amount to:

• Sixty (60) euros for Canaries, non-resident residing in the island of Tenerife.

• Two hundred (200) euros for residents in the Peninsula.

• Three hundred (300) euros for nationals of countries members of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland.

• Five hundred (500) euro for residents in the rest of the world.

The IAC will provide the scholars selected private sickness and accident insurance.

They may be beneficiaries of grants convened by this resolution, those natural persons who, having full capacity to act and when not disabled to obtain grants or public subsidies, meet the following requirements:

(a) possess Spanish nationality or be a national of a member country of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, or resident alien in Spain at the time of completing the scholarship. However may be admitted to the procedure who do not meet any of the above requirements if, in case of being selected, the formalization of the scholarship when they are in possession of the corresponding visa issued by the Spanish Embassy in the country of origin enabling them to remain in Spain during the time to develop such scholarship.

b) be recent graduates (course 2011-2012 or later) or university students of higher degrees or long cycle and degree, preferably Engineering (industrial, information technology, aeronautics, telecommunications) or Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences or related. Applicants who have not completed their studies, at the time of the presentation of instances, should be pursuing any of the last two years of their degree and have passed, at least 240 credits required to earn the degree. For the purposes of this call are excluded those Master’s studies, which are not the specifics that enable for the exercise of every engineering professional.

(c) functional compatibility: possess functional capacity for the development of the training activity that is the object of the aid.

(d) the non-attendance of the circumstances provided for in article 13 of the General subsidies Act, law 38/2003 of 17 November.

The deadline for the submission of applications will be a month counting from the day following the publication of this call for proposals in the official bulletin of the State.

Applications may be submitted at the General registry of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias or in any of the places designated in article 38.4 of law 30/1992, of November 26, legal regime of public administrations and common administrative procedure, and shall be addressed to the Director of the IAC (calle Vía Láctea, s/n, 38200 La Laguna). So are supported applications must have registered within time in any of the following places:

a) General registry of the IAC.

(b) any other register Office of the General Administration of the State.

(c) autonomous communities and embassies and consulates of Spain abroad.

(d) certified mail: applications must be in open envelope to be dated and stamped by the postal officer prior to your certificate submission.
