The Government of Japan, Ministry of education, culture, sports, science and technology (MEXT) offers scholarships to international students wishing to study at Japanese universities as students researchers according to the Japanese Government scholarship system by 2013.

Each fellow will receive monthly 143,000 yen (for Research Students), 144,000 yen (for students enrolled in master’s or professional specialization courses) or 145,000 yen (for students enrolled in doctoral courses). In specifically designated areas may increase the monthly payment in 2,000 or 3,000 yen.
