The Spanish Agency of international cooperation for development (AECID) announces grants lectorados MAEC-AECI in foreign universities for the academic year 2012 / 2013, aimed to cooperate in strengthening and institutional academic development, as well as promote the study of the Spanish language and culture of the departments which include the teaching of the Spanish of the universities or educational institutions of higher education of the recipient countries of official aid to development (ODA) related to the call.

Requirements of the scholarships

Spanish nationality.
Degree or doctor by a Spanish University in: Philology, linguistics, theory of literature, translation and interpretation, or humanities.
Specific training in the teaching of the Spanish.
Teaching experience of the Spanish language and/or literature in Spanish.
Knowledge of the official language of the requested country,
Age not more than 35 years on the date of commencement of the readership indicated in annex I of the present call.

For more than 30 years the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and cooperation (MAEC) is collaborating with different foreign universities in the teaching of the Spanish at the higher education level, and the dissemination of culture in Spanish in this field, through its lectorados MAEC – AECI program.

Currently, the Directorate for cultural relations and scientific (DRCC) of the Spanish Agency of international cooperation for development (AECID), sends readers of Spanish to universities abroad through the aforementioned programme, especially to universities in countries classified as recipients of official aid to development by OECD, and also to other universities with which Spain develops programs of Cultural cooperation.

The Lectorados MAEC-AECI program has traditionally had a great acceptance in the World University, both Spanish and foreign, facilitating the provision of Spanish young readers with the most appropriate academic profile to the institutions concerned and also to readers the possibility of an eventual formation of postgraduate in their host universities.
