Obra Social la Caixa, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the human potential existing in all its scope and convinced of the importance of scientific progress, research, mobility and the qualified for the development of the society, summoned a scholarship program for young researchers who propose to achieve the degree of doctor /-in any University of Spain.

La la Caixa Foundation Announces 25 scholarships to study official doctorate which will culminate in a doctoral thesis reading in a Spanish University.

the doctoral programme proposed must have the mention towards excellence.

studies must begin the academic year 2013-2014 and, in particular, prior to the month of February of the year 2014.

the call covers all areas of knowledge and is addressed to all those persons who meet the requirements for access to the doctorate and to enroll for the first time in this level studies.

grants have an initial duration of one year and may be extended for equal periods up to a maximum duration of four years.

candidates who receive a scholarship should do abroad for a total minimum period of 6 months during the first three years of the doctorate.

scholarship covers:

total staffing of 113.500 EUR for a maximum duration of four years. This amount includes the compensation of the fellow, contributions to Social Security in which the University has to incur and additional provision, each year for supplementary expenses as: the amount of tuition, complementary training, books, software, subscriptions, registration papers or travel and insurance.

the amount of the grant shall be paid directly to the University, which must fully allocate the amount received to cover the remuneration of the fellow and contributions to Social security arising.

the contractual relationship between the student and the University must comply with the legislation governing at all times, the status of doctoral students in their training as researchers.

La la Caixa Foundation will sign with the destination of the scholar University an agreement that will be established, inter alia, the annual amount for financing the scholarship, which shall be as follows for each of the four years:

first year: 26,000 euros.

second year: 27,000 euros.

third year: 29,000 euros.

fourth year: 31,500 euros.

perceptions of the internship will be deduct the quantities corresponding to the quota of Social security by the company (in this case, the host University) as well as any other fees that can be established in a future legal framework to the above figures. In any case, the maximum perceptions will be as follows:

twelve monthly gross remuneration of 1.560 euros, the first year.

twelve monthly gross remuneration of 1,620 euros, the second year.

twelve monthly gross remuneration of 1,740 euros, the third year.

twelve monthly gross remuneration, of 1,900 euros, the fourth year.

a unique annual endowment, for additional expenses of 1,500 euros, the first and the second year.

a unique annual endowment, for supplementary expenses, 1,700 euros, the third and fourth year.

applicants should have Spanish nationality.

can apply persons who meet the requirements of access to an official program of doctorate in accordance with the regulations, or which have to meet them September 2013, provided they have not been previously enrolled in doctoral studies.

for all purposes, for access to the doctorate is necessary to be in possession of the official Spanish degree, or equivalent, with master degree.

also have access to those who are in any of the following:

be in possession of an official Spanish university degree, or another country member of the European area of higher education, which enable access to master, and have passed a minimum of 300 credits ECTS altogether College official, which, at least 60, must be master level.

be in possession of an official Spanish degree of graduate or graduate, the duration of which is, at least 300 ECTS credits. These graduates may have to pursue complementary training, unless the corresponding Bachelor’s degree curriculum include equivalent research credits in educational value from master’s credits in research.

graduates who awarded prior square in formation in the corresponding test of access to specialized health training spaces, have passed with assessment positive at least two years of training in a program to obtain the official title of specialties in health sciences.

be in possession of a diploma obtained in accordance with foreign educational systems, without the need for approval, with prior checking of the University that this title credits a level of education equivalent to the of the Spanish official title of master’s degree and that empowers the country issuing the title access to doctoral studies.

the grant will depend on the selected applicant be admitted to the doctoral programme of your choice.

applicants have to prove their knowledge of English with one of the following certificates:

University of Cambridge: First Certificate or higher.

IELTS (minimum score: 5).

TOEFL (minimum score: 61 in Internet based, 173 in computer based or 500 in paper based).

level B2 or higher of accreditation of online English test certificate issued by the Escola d’Idiomes Moderns

(EIM) of the Universitat de Barcelona.
