Fellowship post-residency Cardiology in foreign centers

The Spanish society of Cardiology published a second call for scholarships of the SEC investigation in foreign centres post-residency training, aimed at cardiologists who completed his residency in a Spanish Centre during 2013 or during the four years prior to the application for the grant and wish to develop a research project in a foreign hospital of recognized prestige.

in total summon three personal grants for an amount of € 25,000 each, through the House of the heart Foundation. The duration of the scholarship shall be one year.

applicants must be cardiologists and members of the SEC.

with the application, the following documents shall be attached:

Curriculum vitae normalized of the researcher.
Letter of recommendation from the tutor of residents or the head of the service of the Center where the residence has been made.
Letter of acceptance from the head of the laboratory or service where to carry out the project.
Overview of work to perform and commitment to send the final draft of research to be done, to the Secretariat of the SEC, during the three months following the incorporation in the Center where the stay will take place.
Document certifying knowledge of the language.

for your grant plus the curriculum vitae of the applicant, the abstract and the prestige of the hospital where you will make the stay.

the amount of the scholarship will be 25,000 euros. The granting of the scholarship will be paid a first installment of 13,000 euros; a second of 6,000 euros, six months of the initiation of the project, prior approval of the Monitoring Committee’s projects and scholarships and after presentation in the Secretariat of the SEC of an evolution of the same report signed by the head of the service.

the last part of the Endowment, 6,000 euros, delivery will be upon approval by the jury grants the work completed in its final wording (format similar to the presentation of works in REVISTA ESPAÑOLA DE CARDIOLOGÍA), together with a report of the Chief of service of the hospital where the project has been developed. The lack of compliance with these requirements shall be valued at the time of the granting of future projects, scholarships and awards of the SEC.

to compete will be sent by email all the documentation prior to the Department of affairs scientific of the Spanish society of Cardiology (ereig@secardiologia.es). The deadline for receipt of applications in the Secretariat of the SEC ends on September 15, 2013. Projects received after the deadline will be refused.

the selection will be made by the jury of projects, scholarships and awards of the SEC. The decisions of the jury are final. The scholarships may declare deserted if, in the opinion of the jury, it is estimated that projects do not meet the appropriate level.

the granting of the scholarships will take place during a ceremony held for that purpose in the Congress of the cardiovascular diseases (Valencia, 24 to 26 October 2013).

in the case of publications should refer to the scholarship granted by the Spanish society of Cardiology, immediately after the title and the relationship of authors.
