Artistic encounters between Asia and Europe

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and Arts Network Asia (ANA), with the support of the European network of Trans Europe Halles (TEH), are launching the fifth call for proposals and presentations of welcome of the projects that will be carried out between April 1 and November 30, 2016. The submission deadline is Saturday, August 15, 2015.

ASEF, ANA and TEH, actively create host cross-cultural connections by supporting dialogue and artistic collaborations. Through this joint initiative, its goal is to strengthen exchanges between Asia and Europe that encourage creative collaborations and improving the mobility of artists and cultural professionals, deepen mutual understanding between the cultural communities in the two regions.

are encouraged organizations to present multilateral projects that reflect the diversity of the two regions.


applicants and participants of the project must come from the Member countries of the ASEM.
Projects must be jointly proposed by a minimum of 2 partner organizations (not individuals) from the countries of the ASEM, with at least 1 of each partner in Asia and Europe. We welcome members of the project.
Projects should take place between April 1 and November 30 of 2016.
Projects should include activities aimed at results that facilitate collaborations, co-productions, exchanges and dialogues between artists and professionals in the culture of Asia and Europe.
Events of the project should only be conducted in ASEM countries.
Online projects have to be managed from the ASEM countries.

The selection criteria are:

projects artistic which facilitate collaboration and co-productions between artists and professional culture of Asia and Europe.
Projects that facilitate dialogue and the exchange of ideas among professionals in the culture of Asia and Europe.
Strong partnerships between Asian and European arts organizations.
High visibility projects that include public dissemination through arts (e.g. exhibitions, festivals, performances open to the public and free of charge) and / or promote the exchange of creative processes / practices.
